On a whim, two parents got in on a study to find out what kinds of chemicals are in their children’s blood. It turned out that in 18 months, their toddler’s body had amassed more man-made gunk than they’d gotten in their combined 74 years. It all came from the environment: mattresses, fabrics and toys.
